With the footballing season soon coming to a close its fair to say that this year has been one of the best years for English teams in European football for a long-long time. Both the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League have an all English final.
UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE-
Liverpool vs Tottenham
I personally never predicted this to be the final, in fact I had the complete opposite in my mind. I was pretty sure that the final would be Barcelona vs Ajax, and the first leg almost reassured me of it. But by now we all know what happened, Liverpool and Tottenham both overcame 3 goal deficits to go through to the final.
As far as my final predictions go I am pretty sure Liverpool will win their first Champions League title since 2005. Although I want Tottenham to win, as they are always criticised for not winning any trophy and secondly because Liverpool beat my favourite team FC Barcelona.
I believe Liverpool will win with a comfortable scoreline of 3-1, their front three guiding them to a successful year end.
UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE-
Chelsea vs Arsenal
As bad as my Champions League predictions were, its a surprise that I actually picked both Arsenal and Chelsea to reach the final. Arsenal easily overcame the challenge of Valencia CF, while Chelsea got through the hard way by beating Eintracht Frankfurt on penalties.
I predict Chelsea to take the title home but as for me, I am a keen Arsenal supporter and want them to win the title to end their trophy less years gap.
I believe Chelsea will win 4-1 with Hazard once again helping them win.
Now this is a hot topic of debate at the moment, which league has really been the most entertaining this season and who are the best players of these leagues this season.
Ratings not in order
ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE (10/10)
For me Manchester City’s performance in the domestic competitions this year has been laudable. Winning the domestic treble makes them one of the favourites for being the best in England. But Liverpool reached an incredible 97 points in the league and are my favourites to win the Champions League.
Team – Liverpool Player – Eden Hazard.

LA LIGA (8/10)
A bit of an off season for the La Liga, with Barcelona winning comfortably and Atletico Madrid coming home in a second it wasn’t one of those classic title races. Real Madrid were off form this season both in domestic and European leagues due to Ronaldo leaving the club
Team – FC Barcelona Player – Lionel Messi.

A good race for the title between close rivals FC Bayern and Borussia Dortmund, with Bayern coming out on top just about. A perfect send off for Arjen Robben and Frank Ribery who both retired after the season.
Team – FC Bayern München Player – Robert Lewandowski.

SERIE A (6/10)
A typical Serie A season with Juventus defending their title quite easily with the addition of Cristiano Ronaldo to their squad. It seemed as if the league had no competition at all and was pretty boring over all.
Team – Juventus Player – Fabio Quagliarella.

To round off the top five leagues, PSG won the Ligue 1 easily with a slight hiccup at the end. A good domestic season but a rather disappointing end to their Champions League hopes marks off an average year for the league and PSG.
Team – Paris Saint Germain Player – Kylian Mbappe.

TOP PERFORMER IN THE WORLD (BALLON D’OR)
If it comes to who has had the best year across all the competitions, most people would say Lionel Messi, Mo Salah or Kylian Mbappe.
Accordingly my top 3 for the Ballon D’or currently are– (in order)
- Lionel Messi ( Fc Barcelona )
- Kylian Mbappe ( Paris Saint Germain )
- Mo Salah ( Liverpool )
